- Growing a sustainable business
Greenbelt, the only UK-wide company that owns and manages greenbelt land formed as part of new housing developments, is investing in sustainable business development.
The Group is already managing open space on behalf of 20,000 homeowners under its Greenspace arrangement on approximately 250 developments, with another 30,000 homeowners under contract. The 750 development sites across the UK cover around 15 million square metres of open space and woodland.
Greenbelt has now:
- acquired leading landscape company MG Contracting Limited
- opened a new regional office serving customers and clients in the north east of England
- appointed a Business Development Director with responsibility for growth across England, Scotland and Northern Ireland
Excellent synergy
M G Contracting has 14 years’ experience in soft landscaping and maintenance work with private developers across central Scotland.
Alex Middleton, Greenbelt's Managing Director, says: "We have worked closely with M G and we are pleased to be able to expand our service by making them part of the Greenbelt team.
"The two businesses are complementary and joining forces allows us to serve clients and customers more effectively."
Mark Gibson, M G's Managing Director, says: "There is excellent synergy between Greenbelt and M G Contracting. Having one company capable of operating from implementation to handover will be of tremendous interest to developers across the UK."
M G's portfolio of work covers grass, trees, shrubs, play areas, fences and sustainable water drainage systems.
Closer to customers
A new regional office at Leeds is bringing Greenbelt closer to its customers in the north east of England.
Andrew Hampton, Greenbelt's North East Regional Director, says: “The new office demonstrates our commitment to centring ourselves at the heart of the business community.
“We are now able to be more proactive, meeting clients informally to talk, exchange ideas and develop relationships.”
Greenbelt's North East Region covering Northumberland, Durham, Yorkshire and Lincolnshire includes the regional offices of more than 50 major house builders.
Greenbelt's site acquisition and legal teams covering England and Northern Ireland are also based in the new office.
Developing business
Greenbelt has appointed a Business Development Director, who will have responsibility for growing the business across England, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
The appointment is due to be announced shortly. The new director will be based at Greenbelt's new regional office at Leeds.
